The author of Village Tale and Bright Was Their Pestiny in another semi-slick, semi-sentimental story of New England, this time emphasizing the values of the good old days. John Diggs, a successful playwright, returns to his home town to find that it has grown too big and deteriorated with modernisms, chain stores, cocktail lounges, etc. How he shakes up the town until it recognizes what it has lost, and how Chris, his secretary, watches his pursuit by two local girls and queers their maiden efforts. Light, homespun, benevolent entertainment -- but not too important.
