Good English ny-m-ny-miny-mo sort of sleuthing, which involves police, crime writer and various amateurs. Three deaders -- the problem motive and opportunity rather than means, and the tenants of the converted flats being the main handful of suspects. Blackmail, petty thievery and an assortment of characters fill in competently, while some pleasant dialogue helps a plot where the reader has a fair deal.
