Growing farther and farther away from Cleanth Brooks, to whom the book is dedicated, as it approaches Frost, it gains interest in its selection- and discussion- of some of Frost's less popular and well known poems. Here Professor Lynen shows the wealth of interior, symbolic meaning beneath the apparent descriptive or decorative overlay. To many, of course, this criticism of Frost is superfluous, but for the less discerning it may be a welcome guide to the work of one of our foremost poets.
