KIRKUS REVIEW

A musician's novel, of three child prodigies, all friends, bent, each one on making ""the big time"", but each becoming merely another competent musician. A solid readable job, but lacking in flair, with the sense of temperament, of genius, paper-thin. There is the outstanding artist, there is the one who realizes his limitations in time, there is the one who compromises with his pocketbook -- and there are the wives, adding to a temperamental wrangle-jangle. Fairly real but somewhat flat.
