A good job, this, for the armchair generals (yes, even for the armchair privates), for here is military language and strategy in terms for the layman, with illustrations from the two World Wars, the Civil War and Napoleon's campaigns. An old war horse shares his professional knowledge so that amateurs may analyze in terms of the expert. The principles of waging successful combat and the application of those principles provide excellent guides for the newspaper reader and radio listener of today; while the professional art and science of war, reduced to simple terms, proves unexpectedly fascinating reading. His ""9 gods of war"" (initiative, surprise, mass, mobility, simplicity, coordination, cooperation, unity of command) seem applicable to any part of the military machine, in any age. We liked it... So will a lot of your customers.
