A slight novel, but well done -- set against the background of Eastern Shore Maryland, where change is slow and the pace alters not. The parties, visits, customs, covering the tragedies of the lives of a group of people living there, as disclosed to Hugh Valliant, writer, when he goes there to live. Not a book for the general run, but will appeal to readers who like something a bit different.
