WYOMING CATTLE TRAILS

An historical anthology of Oregon cattle, cattlemen, cowboys and the routes into Wyoming and Montana, a collection based on source material, individual experience records, letters, personal records of the 1880's, and so on. There are introductory chapters on the cattle blood lines, on the cowboy, and cook and wagon boss, the cavvy, the associations, and the individual stories follow these preliminaries. There are adventures on a first trip along the Texas trail into Oregon, from Oregon to Montana, backwards and forwards on the Oregon Trail; there are stories of the cow-ponies, rangers, rustlers; there is the geography of the cattle trails and the development of the industry in the North. A specialized aspect of Western history.
