KIRKUS REVIEW

Sensational but grand reading. A terrifying and breath-taking revelation of fear ridden Central Europe. Vivid --colorful -- revealing the seamy side of humanity in those sections under some sort of Fascism. Investigation of government rackets, spy systems, tax oppression, grinding poverty, hunger, unemployment, torture. By circuitous routes he has ferretted out information about underground radical movements, plans for the future. It seems distorted, unbalanced, scareheady -- but the fact emerges that Central Europe is fast disintegrating, socially, economically, spiritually and that civil wars will come. Good journalese -- should be easy to sell, easy to rent.
