THE RACE QUESTION

A volume of interest primarily to Catholic readers. The author is a distinguished jresuit missionary, editor and educator. In this book he brings up to date a study of the race question published in 1937. It is an exposition of Catholic teaching on the problems of race, coupled with a review of the scientific data on the subject. He sets forth an inter-racial program for the Catholic Church. While the basis of Catholic repudiation of the Nasi doctrine of racism is set forth, this study has particular reference to the Negroes of America. Stress is laid on inter-racial justice and the combatting of race prejudice and discrimination as an integral part of Catholic missionary program among Negroes.
