Peru, the forgotten front whose sympathies the U.S.A. must enlist before it is too late -- this is his thesis, grown cut of a harrowing experience which he details in this book. As A P correspondent assigned to South America to study the Nazi silent war for control, he had flown to Iqutos via a two-plane airline conducted by an ex-American now wanted by the government. There he saw ample evidence of Nazi indoctrination. And homeward bound he met disaster. He was stranded in the desert, with two others, and with them made his way on foot to safety, sustained by one bottle of water and one banana! The book is primarily the story of that adventure.
