THE TRUE BOOK OF TOYS AT WORK by John Lewellen

THE TRUE BOOK OF TOYS AT WORK

By

Publisher: Children's Press

Simple terminology and logical organization makes this a far better book than the author's You and Space Neighbors, reported in the Read Aloud section. Here, basic principles of physics- friction, the lever, the wheel, the gear, air pressure, centrifugal force and the electromagnet are clearly explained in relation to the toys they operate. Budding engineers, perhaps with a midge of parental aid, will know what makes their toy cranks lift, their balloons rise, their tops spin.
