KIRKUS REVIEW

Father L'Heureux' first collection of poems, Quick as Dandelions, met with considerable acclaim by critics both religious and secular and with a surprising commercial success in a field where sales are measured in tens and hundreds rather than in thousands. There is no reason to think that this new collection will do less well, despite an obvious self-consciousness of expression that occasionally makes L'Heureux' art seem less an imitation of life than an imitation of art. yet, for all of that, his work frequently exhibits a power, even an earthy grandeur, that places it far above the ordinary mass of contemporary poetry.
