KIRKUS REVIEW

All -- at any rate more than you'll want to know about Deliverance-from-the-Void Whitby whose story is begat in Biblical prose along with some non-denominational stumpers (bzzit; bromblugg; etc.). He's a foundling and he leaves the peaceful planet Gilead to be captured by a brutal race, to be trained as a warrior and instructed in other skills, eventually to free a planet where he will live out the rest of his days as its virtuous ruler. Dully didactic, it's something of a spacebummer.
