A master of legerdemain tells how to achieve a smooth performance in magic tricks, how to keep a natural attitude, how to gauge an afford on an audience, how to attain confidence in execution, etc. He details various basic tricks, -- card, ring and string, coin, paper, and mind signal tricks. He gives basic examples, he explains how variations can be worked, the various forms tricks may take; he underlines the possibility of learning expertness through constant practice. It is an informal presentation, definitely easy to follow and clear in its exposition. Excellent beginners' book, but adult in approach so that mature magicians will profit by it.
