ADVENTURES IN ADVERTISING

John Orr Young, the Young of Young & Rubicam, and his story of his activities as an ad-man, along with a few hints as to why he was successful in the field, this has a light casual touch and is by no means an autobiography but rather the story of his career. His early leanings toward advertising and contacts with others from his Iowa home town; his work for several big firms; and then the establishment of Young & Rubicam in New York, the methods they used, the acquisition of some big accounts, their policies... Sometimes interesting, sometimes repetitious, this is angled largely towards an audience of young hopefuls.
