THE CONCRETE KINOMO

Concrete Kimono is a deadweight which has been shipped over from England featuring Garway Trenton, an impervious, illiterate (so is his copy editor) detective. Garway has been hired to do a film script of the novel of one Sharon Saxbee on location in Mandura, a mythical island, where he runs into his old friend Roderick Vandaleur (he was a ""scug"" at Eton), a sex kitten in a Hathaway eye patch and no shirt, (see the jacket) and some international mobsters anxious to reach a sunken submarine full of gold... Carstairs, inheriting the worst of both possible worlds, uses the American idiom (Rat fink), the English (""the old spinacho""), and some which is less identifiable like ""whimsey-whamsey"" and ""tickety boo."" It's a bloomin' bore.
