ON FRIDAY SOMETHING FUNNY HAPPENED

Two tots engage in a week of mischievous mayhem, pictured with such innocent captions as ""On Monday we did the washing""--accompanied by an illustration of the family bathroom awash in suds, toothpaste, and something brown streaming from teapot to toilet. Only Friday is different: they play quietly and clean up. The idea here is hardly exceptional, but Prater's illustrations are colorful, well-executed, and full of lively detail that is sure to amuse kids. It is to be hoped that they will deplore, rather than emulate, the activities!
