Scarcely a novel, this is a facetious yet serious record of the author's thoughts and experiences as a correspondent in the Pacific Theatre in the early phases of the war, tying in his activities with those of his college class encountered in various military and navy posts. Although the book attempts to contrast the lives of the men as he knew them in Harvard with the way he finds them now, it seems to be written largely for effect, and the triviality of the episodes hardly seems worth recording. One Questions who will read them.
