Another sure-footed novel about a boy's faith in his horse, with the Olympics as a goal and proving ground for Don Revere to show the mettle of Raffy, his Arab steed. Big Mike, Don's father, a rancher, takes no interest at first in his son's aspirations to be an Olympic horseman but in time he and his son share an interest in the big event. A double victory is Don's in the Olympic races when he outscores the Russian equestrians and realizes that Clare Stannard, the girl he loves, returns his affection. Competent as it is, this is still difficult to distinguish from others in the horse book parade.
