Budget-cut from his accountant's job, David Grendon leaves both his wife and the city to make a ""real living"" as a lobster fisherman in Devonshire. As if camping out on Dartmoor weren't taxing enough, he's then suspected of the theft of a 16th-century gold chalice which he later tries to recover with the aid of the rector's daughter, Elizabeth Danvers. Shipshape yet ever so slight.
