DEMOCRACY'S COLLEGE

A survey and a discussion of democracy's college- the local college-an ""extension of opportunity"" since it is economically accessible to almost all young Americans. The development of the city college in America; the problem of control- city, state or federal- and the danger of the latter; the obligation of community support; the function of the local college; the moral and vocational training provided; the community services offered- adult education, clinics, cultural opportunities; the need for more teachers and better teachers; practices of admission, and general policies; programs. Once again limited to the educational field- and to this particular division.
