Other stamp collector books are for older boys and girls. This is the best one I have encountered for nine and ten year olds -- and many of them begin then. There's a good deal of biographical and historical information, introduced indirectly, but the emphasis is on the factual information about stamps, about things to look for, about how to start a collection, how to specialize, etc. Keyed to the needs of the boy who hasn't much money to spend. Good identification tables at end.
