KIRKUS REVIEW

Quite a lot about kangaroos and humans goes into this practical fantasy. Evie lives with her family in California where they happen to have a pet kangaroo, Cookie, who used to be in a zoo. Cookie, who is scrupulously neat, and Evie, who is seven, almost come to a parting of the ways over Evie's messiness. Reasoning however, mends their friendship so that it can go on to the point where Cookie proves herself of even more profit to the family during a vacation trip. Grey and orange cartoons by Louis Slobodkin and a dead pan narrative style make the humor more evident.
