BIRTH CONTROL AND CATHOLICS

Topical is the word for Msgr. Kelly's subject. There is controversy on the subject in and out of the Church and recently a new ""furor"" has been stirred up by the publication of Dr. Rock's The Time Has Come. Msgr. George A. Kelly, Family Life Director for the Archdiocese of New York, steps up to throw the fast, straight ball which represents the immutable postion of the Church on the immorality of unnatural contraceptive methods. The author summarizes all that needs to be said about the subject in clear, simple language. Birth Control and Catholics will be especially welcomed by people who are directly concerned about how birth control involves them morally physically and economically. Many will find the answers to their personal problems here. On the positive side, the author explains all the methods which conform to the requirements of natural law. In citing examples from life, however, Msgr. Kelly often makes them overdrawn and unrealistic. Nevertheless, this valiant effort by this well-known priest-author will be cheered by many. One wonders when a book of this kind will be written by a married couple?
