BRITONS UNDER FIRE

The pastor of the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church carried a message of faith and courage to the General Assembly of the Church in Scotland, and stayed long enough to experience and witness the determination, the spirit of the British. He visited churches, homes, shelters, factories, camps; he talked with all types of people; he came back with renewed faith not only in his religion but in the people who were living and dying for a holy cause. A splendid picture of the part religious faith is playing in the vortex of war -- a human document not bound by tenets of a creed.
