KIRKUS REVIEW

The publications of 23 classics, seven from New England, the balance from England), a little of the men, their tastes, their lives, told informally and charmingly. The author was editor of the Colophon for years; his writing shows taste and distinction. The book is primarily for the collector and bibliophile, but the scholarship (not pedantry), the wit and the bits of curio anecdotage make the possibility of wider distribution. A limited edition of this was published some months ago.
