Young Doctor Carey comes West to help out an ageing doctor, works against tremendous odds of poverty among the good, hardworking people, kept in debt by a scheming merchant. Doctor Carey wins respect of rich and poor, and outlaws too, and proves the ultimate stumbling block by which the power-loving merchant and his henchmen meet ignoble defeat. Good.
