KIRKUS REVIEW

Writing over a hundred years ago, John Tyndall drew from his own vast scientific understanding as well as his first hand acquaintance with Faraday at the Royal Institution, to detail the researches and discoveries of Faraday in the fields of magnoelectric induction, electrochemistry, magnetization of light and diamagnetism. This is not a biography, although intermittent digressions on the man illustrate something of his character. The style is intensely formal and the information which is highly accurate and crudite will find its audience among science devotees.
