KIRKUS REVIEW

An American hood and some of his boys spring out of nowhere to take over Robs Cully, a posh, insular British village made even more inaccessible after its only bridge is blown. Ringleader Eddie Wolff merely wants to spring his son who's serving a seven-year stretch behind bars. However, when Wolff is plugged the situation gets out of hand despite the presence of portly Detective Superintendent Lennox (on an ill-timed fishing holiday). Familiar mayhem in a quaint setting.
