Sub-titled ""Especially for German Americans"", this is not a grammar but a guide which enables the foreign born to smooth out certain germanicisms, learn a more colloquial, informal English than is possible through straight grammatical -- or literary -- precept. Pronunciation, and the regional variational; differences in sounds between both languages; contractions, omissions, idioms, slang, tenses and moods, punctuation; and common errors the average German-American makes. The last few chapters cover certain social forms, etiquette, letters, etc. A book obviously designed for the refugees now in this country and one which should be valuable.
