From locale, items, and so-called stories from the town newspaper, with some rather from the author, this reconstructs a silver town- Georgetown, Colorado, from 1860 on when as a bonanza it was getting into its stride. You will get to know its hotel, its band, its school, its newspaper; there all kinds of people from the professional men to the prospectors and miners, the young ladies to the fancy women; there's the centennial and the coming of the railroad; and there's a particular concentration on the career of Edward Wolcott, its leading citizen, who later became a United States Senator.... The good old days when -- but I can't imagine for whom.
