THE EASY BASEBALL BOOK by Jonah Kalb

THE EASY BASEBALL BOOK

By

Pub Date: April 30th, 1976
Publisher: Houghton Mifflin

You already know all this"" but Kalb will tell you again anyway. . . everything from the kind of advice that poor hitters hear constantly (""If they are swinging too high, they should try to swing lower next time,"" etc.) to more useful tips on ""common mistakes and how to fix them,"" choosing equipment, and developing a confident-looking stance out there in the outfield. Kalb's merit lies in his quick delivery; just 49 pages of rapid-fire do's and dont's, and he heads for the showers. We're reminded of Yogi Berra's complaint that no one can think and hit at the same time. Though kids who do believe they can learn baseball from a book will likely pass up the long-winded Coombs (1973) and even Kalb's older How to Play Baseball Better. . . in favor of this spiffy looking rookie.
