RELAX AND LIVE

This is a how-to book with a message for many in a hurried, competitive culture, and its author, a physical director, writes from his long experience in teaching people to relax with a great deal of physiological and some psychological sense. He describes relaxation as a way of functioning, and he proceeds to tell how to relax passively for rest or sleep and how to relax rhythmically to get maximum efficiency with minimum effort in work and to smooth human relations. The method of relaxing here presented was featured by the author in Life in 1951, and this confident, readable book that runs along easily and with the seeming effortlessness of the relaxation which the author propounds may find a wide audience from businessmen to housewives who feel their lives bound by tension.
