A new firm, to us -- and they've done a good job of bookmaking in this comprehensive survey of the history of period and modern furniture. Not a book for the serious student of decoration, as it is of necessity a smattering of a vast field of knowledge. But a good book for someone who wants a quick survey. The sections on modern furniture are, of necessity, somewhat lacking in perspective, and ephemeral in character, but useful in the relation to the period sections. Exceptional value at low price.
