MIGH MOSCOW

By

Publisher: Simon & Schuster

From his . Journals reports to Washington, letters, this is Ambassador avies' repitulation of his stay in Moscow in 1937 and 1938. As a picture and as interpretation of Russia, which the book purports to be, it lacks the utility and depth of the book or even the H book. It is overlong, re with of material from diary to journal, journal to letters, etc. Interviews, sight , inspection entertainments, a year's observation on all pha of Russia which leads to these primary conclusions: -- that Russia is a form of , that the personal profit motive has had to be restored in indus that grip on the country has never relaxed, etc. At the close, he brings the book up to date with his opinions on the war, and Russia's chances which be believes infinitely greater than attributed to her. Not another Dodd, but an interesting report.
