KIRKUS REVIEW

One of the most amazing stories we've read, a state that has endured since about 57 A.D. with a continuous history of its rulers, subjects, organization and business. Everyone whether Roman Catholic, Anglo Catholic or Protestant will find this book as fascinating as it is informative for it is not just the history of the Vatican but of the world as the two grew side by side. Many questions are answered, criticisms silenced and whether the reader approves or disapproves he will be a better informed and fairer critic for having read it. It is almost required reading for the person who senses the critical situation we are facing and looks to the Vatican for help as the psalmists looked to the hills. With the death of the Pope, the situation is fraught with dangers and problems, which give this book a timely interest and plus sales value.
