KIRKUS REVIEW

This is one of the few biographies of da Vinci for young people that I have read that combines a sensitive appreciation of the artist with an illuminating and contagious enthusiasm for the inventor and mechanical genius. Usually, one side or the other predominates. This author has done the Florentine in the round. He makes a good story of it too, with an excellent period background.
