HOW TO BE HEALTHY AND HAPPY AFTER SIXTY

The industry responds to the actuarial statistics-- we add almost half a million annually to the population who are sixty-five or over-- by publishing a book a year roughly comparable to this one (the DeRopp- St. Martin's; Boas- John Day) which deals with the question of adding life to your years as well as years to your life. There is more responsible guidance than novelty in what Dr. Wassersug has to say about the physiological processes of both body and mind; the particularly vulnerable parts of the body (skin, bones, lungs, heart, etc.); health and hygiene; diet; sexuality; finances; and above all the continuation of old interests and cultivation of new ones. Successful aging is equated with successful living, not withdrawal. Sensible and sanguine.
