KIRKUS REVIEW

The late Dr. Joseph Fort Newton had a long and most influential ministry as pastor of the City Temple in London and latterly as rector of the Church of St. Luke and the Epiphany in Philadelphia. For many years he wrote ""The Saturday Sermon"" for the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin and it was upon the insistence of his many readers that this collection of sermonettes has been published. Each is based on a Biblical text and the message is practical, attempting to show how to attain unto a more satisfying life by applying the principles of the Christian religion to everyday living. This would be the most suitable book for personal or family devotions.
