YANKEE SKIPPER

E. S. McCawley reports as follows:- ""Gainard must have been allergic to excitement, from being torpedoed during the World War, right on through the Seven Seas, including an experience with a sit-down strike that made front page news. Then the second World War found him Captain of the City of Flint. The story is recent enough to be familiar to all -- Gainard makes it good going. He is still a young man, modest about his exploits. He writes well, and the book is both for land lubbers and nautical fans.
