KIRKUS REVIEW

Twenty nine stories, -- long stories, short stories, fact and fiction, news stories of the present war, classics of the sea -- an excellent collection, varied enough to provide something for everyone. The Raft is given in its entirety; most of the material is lifted from a longer whole, -- for instance, sections of Mutiny on the Bounty, of They Wars Expendable, of Two Years Before the Most, of Westward Ho. of An Iceland Fisherman, of oby Dich, of Kidnapped -- and many others -- are evidence of the cathity of taste. This is, in the main, based on a two volume compilation of sea stories made by Joseph French some years ago, with additions from today's writers, today's war.
