KIRKUS REVIEW

This is an unprepossessing book, but a book that should find a wide market. For here is a book about games that boys and girls can create out of the things they have easy access to, games for outdoors and indoors, for one player, for two or more. Active games -- puzzles -- table games -- board games -- card games -- games of checkers and markers -- paper games -- tenpins -- skiddles --wicket bowling -- horseshoes, and so on. Directions for making equipment out of home assets; directions for playing the game, rules, counts, and so on. A valuable book for club rooms, camps, school libraries. A few ""war games"" give particular timeliness.
