KIRKUS REVIEW

Slick sleuth Silas Booth, his brash and bristling Daisy, and his ambling assistant Gus, take over the deadings connected with elections for city council in Lindora, near L. A. Three candidates are involved in two murders; so are three, then four women; Lt. Musset of Homicide gets pretty mad at Booth; and the necessity of smudging against frost for orange groves turns up the wanted killer. He -- also -- hum.
