KIRKUS REVIEW

Eastern Shore small town story, with the plot centering around the family of a captain of a coastwise schooner, and of the stranger who alone survived the shipwreck of the schooner, and came back to recuperate at the home of the captain's widow. A simple story of simple folk, smoothly and naturally written, not exciting but pleasant and easy reading. A good circulating library item for the conservative reading public of mature point of view.
