KIRKUS REVIEW

Dave Rand of the Bureau of Indian Affairs goes by train, stage, a horse and afoot to Ouray, Colorado. There the Utes have just demonstrated (with a finality that involves murder and kidnapping) their discontent with pioneer land grabbing and repression. The presence of a girl, who remains adverse to the ""noble savage"" concept, sheds very pale light on a standard warpath.
