KIRKUS REVIEW

Jim Dunn finds a wide open case against Colter on his return to the ranch he has inherited on his father's death -- and a not so open one against his young step-mother. Colter has killed Jim's father and is ready to kill Jim to get the widow, who in turn is ready to marry him. Jim has to do quite a bit of coyote hunting, prove his love for Ginny and win the town's approval -- and he does. Straightforward.
