THE AMIABLE MEDDLERS

The busybodies are dressmakers Miss Belle and Miss Zinnie, who run kindly interference in the lives of their customers as they remake them along with their clothes. There's elderly Mrs. Moss whom they try to help during her husband's illness and after his death; practical nurse, Posy Greenleaf, who proves a substantial mother's helper in the household of an overburdened, overtired young wife, and who secures a man of her own in so doing; their niece, Jenny, who comes to live with them and-independently- is instrumental in protecting Mrs. Moss, etc., etc. No special pleading this time- just plain people, kind hearts, good deeds- for that readymade, homemade market.
