Consumers' Cooperatives -- and their record in the U.S.A. As evidence of economic democracy, the cooperatives are an increasingly important factor in national life, little understood or appreciated by the uninitiate. This is not a complete history; there is small space given to the start of the movement in Rochdale -- none given to the connecting links. But the most dramatic evidences of the movement here today are expanded:- the Ohio Farmers Cooperative, Indiana Farm Bureau, Pennsylvania, Eastern Cooperative League (Brooklyn), Missouri Consumers' Cooperative, spot news of nation-wide growth. Now includes banking, wholesalers, burial associations, insurance, credit unions, campus co-ops, recreation, Negro co-ops, etc.
