RAINBOW IN THE MORNING

Nonsense rhymes, some of which are familiar and some we've never heard before (and are happy now to discover), amply fill the pages of this picture book. A sampling of first lines would include ""Eenie, meenie, minie, mo"", ""An owl and an in a frying pan"", ""How much wood would a woodchuck chuck"" and so forth. They are divided into categories such as counting-out rhymes, jump-rope rhymes and tongue-twisters. We notice some of the verses have been edited so as not to offend; ""nigger"" for instance has been changed to ""rabbit"" in ""Eenie, meenie, minie, mo"". Perhaps this is begging the issue a little, for in sum the richness remains.
