KIRKUS REVIEW

Miss Porter's bizarre crew of villainesses in this new adventure of Detective Chief Inspector Dover of Scotland Yard is a group of middle-aged biddies banded into a Ladies League. Their object: to rid their small town's Don Juans and Lotharios of their capacity to desecrate womanhood. Their method: a lady veterinary's scalpel applied to the organ of male puissance, indeed an unkind cut. And the idea is questionable...albeit small ""q"". The monolithic gluttony, lethargy and spleen of Inspector Dover, more leech than lecher, is bumptious rather than witty.
